The History of Wiley Metal
In 1982, with years of experience in the steel fabricating industry and an entrepreneurial spirit, Verne Wiley set forth in creating and developing his own fabricating company -
Wiley Metal Fabricating, Inc.
Wiley Metal Fabricating was built with a strict emphasis on the value of quality, responsiveness, flexibility and overall service to all customers. These values are the very ones that have made Wiley Metal Fabricating, Inc. into what we are today - and most importantly, the values that will propel us into the future.
Verne's two sons, Ed and Rob, joined the company in the 1980's - believing in their father's vision and in the values and principles he had built the company upon. With commitment and resolve, they have taken Wiley Metal Fabricating to heightened levels.
In July of 2009, Wiley Metal Fabricating purchased the assets of Avionic Structures, Inc. and started Avionic Structures of Indiana. Avionic Structures is a major supplier of parts to the fire truck and emergency vehicle market. Avionic Strucutres specializes in the highest quality mirror finished polished stainless steel bumpers. Their craftsmanship is unmatched in the polished stainless bumper market. They also supply peripheral fabricated parts to the same markets.
The synergy combination of the two companies provides:
- Manufacturing plant area in excess of 125,000 S.F.
- Total current employment in excess of 150 persons
- Total capital equipment investment, to date, in excess of $10 Million
- With a $7 Million investment since 1998.
The combination of Wiley Metal Fabricating, Inc. and Avionic Structures of Indiana has clearly made us one of the premier metal fabricators in the Midwest.
