It’s probably worth stating, that all these services are available individually, on an as-needed basis, as well as being things we can include as part of your project. Here’s a closer look at each.
Reverse Engineering
Need something making, “just like this”? We can handle that. (It’s a common issue in agriculture and elsewhere: a part breaks and you need a replacement, but of course, you don’t have any drawings.)
Starting with your sample, we’ll create CAD drawings with all the detail needed to make a copy. And if it’s appropriate, we’ll even upgrade the design to give you an improved version. (Improvements can include upgrading materials, placing welds better, altering dimensions, and adjusting tolerances.) We can then use these drawings ourselves to produce exactly what you need.
Prototyping and Production
When creating something for the first time, it’s prudent to start with prototyping before leaping into volume production. We have both the equipment and the expertise to produce those initial sample parts that demonstrate proof-of-concept and let you optimize your design.
We’ll also work with you on ways to take out costs while improving functionality. (Something as small as changing a radius or a hole position can have a big effect on manufacturability.) Then, when the design is settled, we can ramp up output using our advanced CNC equipment and other automation.
Precision Laser Cutting
Modern laser cutting machines work quickly with minimal kerf and heat-affected zones. They are ideal for cutting complex profiles from metal sheets and plates, and their nesting capabilities, (plus our advanced programming software), result in high material utilization.
We operate several of these CNC laser cutting machines, each capable of handling sheets up to 8’ x 4’. Steel is cut easily, and reflective materials like copper and aluminum are a little more challenging, but with our experience, we know exactly what to do to achieve quality results.
Advanced Welding Techniques
Most of our welding is MIG welding of carbon steel – that’s what most fabrication shops do – but when the job requires, there are a range of other welding techniques we can deploy. These include TIG and resistance welding, along with robotic and fiber laser welding. Plus, our welders are AWS-certified, so you can be confident they know exactly what’s needed to make durable, high-quality welds.
So, if your project requires welding of stainless steel, aluminum, very thick pieces, or very thin sheets, we have both the expertise and the equipment needed. We’ll optimize the welding process to minimize distortion and prevent cracking and, at the same time, achieve the penetration needed for strength and the speed needed for a reasonable cost.
Custom Metal Fabrication
Some metal fabrication shops want only the repetitive, high-volume business. We’re set up for that too, but we also have the flexibility to take on unique and custom projects. This stems from the wide range of machinery we keep in our shop, combined with the extensive experience of our employees and our commitment to customer service.
In short, if your design has unusual or complex features, or you need it made from out-of-the-ordinary materials like marine-grade brass or aerospace-grade aluminum, we can handle it.
Comprehensive Finishing Services
When designing a fabrication, big or small, finishing must always be considered. By “finishing” we mean adding protection against corrosion and creating the kind of attractive appearance that makes the part or structure look like a professionally-made product.
We offer a long list of options for finishing, from powder coating and galvanizing to plating and polishing. When your fabrication leaves our shop, we want the care we put into it to show. An attractive, professionally finished product looks like something people care about, which speaks to the commitment and expertise of the people making it and those who use it.
Custom Assembly
Sometimes a fabrication stands on its own, but often it has to be incorporated into something larger. Our focus on adding value for our customers has led us to offer this custom assembly work as an additional service. This eliminates the need to find another business to do the assembly, or to find space and set up a line or cell for the task. It shortens lead time too, by eliminating transportation-related delays.
Custom assembly can take almost any form needed. We can bolt and screw things together, we can add seals, brackets, and motors, and we can even install wiring, instrumentation and displays and gauges.
